Molten Corporation (Headquarters: Nishi-ku, Hiroshima City, Japan; President and CEO: Kiyo
Tamiaki), a manufacturer of sports equipment, will launch the official match basketball and handball for the Olympic Games Paris 2024, to be held from July 24 (Wed.) to August 11 (Sun.), 2024 in Paris. The balls are developed by Molten under license of the International Olympic Committee and will be sold globally.
It will be the first time for Molten to sell official match balls for the Olympic Games with the Olympic logo.
The basketball match ball was designed based on the BG5000 model. This model was first used in 2019 and has been used at all international matches held by the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) since then. It has an exclusive design with the Olympic Game Paris 2024 logo and a sport pictogram. The handball match ball was designed based on A5000 model, which is still being used as the only official match ball for international matches held by the International Handball Federation(IHF). It has an exclusive design for the Olympic games with the Paris 2024 logo and a sport pictogram printed on a red background color that makes the ball stand out on the court. Molten will continue to develop and supply basketball and handball products of outstanding function and design to every level of player, and work to fulfill the brand promise, “For the real game''.
