What Equipment Is Required for a Volleyball Court?

A complete volleyball court requires both playing equipment and safety accessories to ensure proper training sessions, recreational games, and official competitions.

The most important components are the volleyball posts and volleyball net. Posts can be permanently installed in floor sockets, which is the preferred solution for sports halls and competition venues, or portable with counterweights and wheels for easy transport and storage. The net should meet official dimensions and include a tensioning system for proper setup.

For official matches, volleyball antennas and antenna pockets are required. These accessories define the legal crossing space above the net and are essential for competition play.

Player safety can be improved with post padding, which is strongly recommended for schools, sports clubs, and competition facilities.

Court boundary lines are also necessary to mark the official playing area according to volleyball regulations.

For training sessions, additional equipment is commonly used, including:

  • Volleyballs for training and competition
  • Lightweight volleyballs for children and beginners
  • Ball carts and ball storage systems
  • Ball bags and carrying nets
  • Pumps and pressure gauges
  • Cones and court markers
  • Agility ladders and conditioning equipment

Official competitions often require additional equipment such as:

  • Referee stand
  • Scoreboards and substitution paddles
  • Additional safety padding
  • Designated warm-up areas

Anastasia Sport Recommendation

For a typical school sports hall, we recommend:

  • 1 set of volleyball posts
  • 1 volleyball net
  • 1 set of volleyball antennas
  • 1 set of post padding
  • 10–20 volleyballs
  • 1 ball cart or storage trolley
  • 1 pump with pressure gauge

For sports clubs and competition venues, we recommend professional volleyball systems, official competition nets, protective padding, and FIVB Approved or DVV-certified volleyballs to ensure compliance with competition standards.

Which Volleyball Is Recommended for Schools?

Choosing the right volleyball for a school depends on the students' age, skill level, and playing surface.

For children aged 6–10 years, we recommend Molten VP4, Molten V4M1500, and Molten V4M3000-L. These volleyballs are lighter and softer than standard models, making it easier for young players to learn basic techniques while providing greater comfort on contact. They are ideal for mini-volleyball programs, physical education classes, and beginner training.

For students aged 10–14 years, Molten V5M1500 and Molten V5M2200 are excellent choices. These balls feature official size specifications and are suitable for school sports programs, training sessions, and youth competitions.

For students over 14 years old, high schools, and school representative teams, we recommend Molten V5M4000, one of the most popular volleyballs for schools and sports clubs due to its excellent balance of performance, durability, and value. For sports high schools and advanced training programs, Molten V5M4500 offers a premium feel similar to official competition volleyballs.

If the school also has outdoor volleyball courts, it is advisable to use volleyballs specifically designed for outdoor play. Surfaces such as asphalt, concrete, or tartan can wear out indoor volleyballs more quickly. For these conditions, Molten V5B1300 and Molten V5B1502 are recommended because they offer increased durability and resistance to abrasion.

Anastasia Sport Recommendation

  • 6–10 years: Molten VP4, V4M1500, V4M3000-L

  • 10–14 years: Molten V5M1500, V5M2200

  • 14+ years: Molten V5M2200, V5M4000

  • School teams and competitions: Molten V5M4000

  • Sports schools and volleyball clubs: Molten V5M4500

  • Outdoor courts: Molten V5B1300, V5B1502

For most schools, we recommend using VP4 or V4M1500 for primary school students, V5M1500 or V5M2200 for middle school students, and V5M4000 for high school teams and competitions, providing the best balance between safety, skill development, durability, and budget.

Which Volleyball Is Suitable for a Sports Club?

Choosing the right volleyball for a sports club depends on the players' level, training frequency, and the level of competition in which the team participates.

For clubs conducting regular training sessions and participating in local or regional competitions, the Molten V5M4000 is one of the best choices. It offers characteristics similar to competition volleyballs, excellent durability, and outstanding value for money.

For clubs competing at national level and looking for a premium volleyball for both training and official matches, we recommend the Molten V5M4500. Thanks to its premium construction and excellent feel on contact, this model is widely used by sports clubs and volleyball organizations throughout Europe. The V5M4500 is also used in Catchball competitions and is considered one of the official balls for this sport.

For elite teams and the highest levels of competition, the Molten V5M5000 is the ideal choice. This model is FIVB Approved and features FLISTATEC (Flight Stability Technology), which improves flight stability, ball control, and visibility during play. It is one of the most recognized volleyballs used in international competitions.

For youth development programs and junior teams, we recommend:

  • VP4, V4M1500, and V4M3000-L for children up to 10 years old

  • V5M1500 and V5M2200 for junior players and beginner training

Anastasia Sport Recommendation for Sports Clubs

  • Youth development programs: Molten V5M2200

  • Local and regional clubs: Molten V5M4000

  • National-level clubs: Molten V5M4500

  • Elite clubs and international competitions: Molten V5M5000

For most sports clubs, the Molten V5M4000 offers the best balance of performance, durability, and cost. For clubs seeking a premium volleyball with a feel very close to the official international competition ball, the Molten V5M4500 is our recommended choice.
