After years of research and development, Molten created the first handball specifically designed for professional handball games played without resin or wax. Thanks to its innovative absorbent construction and advanced FREE RESIN technology, the D60 PRO delivers maximum grip and excellent ball control without the need for handball resin.

In traditional handball, resin is commonly used to reduce slipperiness caused by sweat and to improve grip and control. However, resin damages sports hall floors, sports equipment, and handballs, while many modern indoor venues prohibit its use. To address this challenge, the IHF introduced official “Handballs played without Resin” regulations in July 2019 for handballs used in resin-free competitions.

The Molten D60 PRO H2D5000-BW is a premium elite-level competition handball officially approved as an IHF FREE RESIN PRO match ball. It is specifically designed for professional handball competitions and training sessions where resin is not allowed.

The highly absorbent premium PU surface significantly reduces slipperiness, even when used with sweaty hands. Combined with the thicker soft sponge layer and the innovative 60-panel triangular surface structure, the D60 PRO provides exceptional grip and superior handling characteristics.

The innovative surface efficiently absorbs sweat and moisture, while the soft construction allows the fingertips to sink deeper into the ball surface, increasing the contact area between the hand and the ball. This results in safer catching, improved passing accuracy, and superior shooting control.

The evenly distributed 60 triangular panels help players catch and hold the ball more naturally and securely compared to traditional handballs. The recessed dimples in the center of each panel, together with the grooves between the panels, further improve grip and control during gameplay.

The ball is manufactured using laminated and thermally bonded construction technology, creating a perfectly uniform surface with high durability for intensive use.

The Molten D60 PRO was selected as the official match ball for the IHF Women’s Youth World Championship U18 and represents one of the most advanced handballs developed by Molten for modern resin-free handball.

The original diamond-inspired design was created by Nendo, the Japanese design company led by internationally renowned designer Oki Sato.

For optimal performance, Molten recommends inflating the ball to a low pressure between 0.10 and 0.15 bar.
