The Molten B6G4550 is a premium basketball, designed for official competitions and high-performance training, officially approved by FIBA for the 2023–2027 period, at Levels 1 and 2.
Size 6 is the official dimension for women’s basketball and for U16–U18 junior competitions, with a circumference of 72–74 cm and a weight of 510–567 g, according to FIBA standards.
This size makes the ball easier to handle, enabling more accurate shots and a faster pace of play – ideal for female athletes and young players.

As the successor of the well-established GG and BG4500 series, the BG4550 sets the new Molten standard for professional games, being used at both national and international levels.
Its construction is based on the latest Molten Advanced Basketball Technologies, engineered to help every athlete reach their maximum potential.

The ball is made from premium composite leather and features a four-layer laminated structure:

• outer layer of durable composite leather,

• double foam layer for cushioning and comfort,

• nylon reinforcement for stability,

• reinforced butyl bladder ensuring long-lasting air retention.

A key element of the new BG4550 is the additional foam layer, which makes the ball softer, more pleasant to the touch, and easier to control. This innovation reduces hand fatigue and improves shooting accuracy. The classic flat-grain surface provides excellent grip, even when players’ palms are moist.

The distinctive GIUGIARO® 12-panel bicolor design increases visibility for both players and spectators. The Molten logo, reduced by 25% compared to previous models, further enhances grip and ball control.

The Molten B6G4550 is already in use by the Romanian Basketball Federation, alongside the BG4050, as well as in major international and national competitions, including:
